Films: The Hidden (1987), The Hidden 2 (1993)
Alias: Several, notably Jack DeVries and Senator Holt
Type: Alien
Location: Civilized area
Height/Weight: Usuually, that of house cats.
Affiliation: Evil
Summary: Body snatchers, body snatchers, it's always bad with body snatchers. We'll say this much. These critters sure look as ugly as they act.
History: In the galaxy, there are two types of thrill-seeking creature bent on taking over bodies and robbing them of free will. One is an insectoid monstrosity and the other is a being of pure energy. The former are the most frequent, and one in particular was the bane of LA for some time.
Notable Kills: Nothing special.
Final Fate: Every host that the first parasite seems to take dies one way or another, and the beast itself is taken out by a weapon of Alhague, an intergalactic cop out for revenge against the menace. But the creature laid eggs, leading to Alhague and pals having to do another clean sweep of any evil aliens.
Powers/Abilities: Any host of the Hidden are invincible, meaning the alien itself cannot be harmed while inside.
Weakness: Anything conventional...if you can hit it.
Scariness Factor: 4.5-Once again, body snatchers are a really, really terrifying thought. But damn, imagine a gooey fly-squid-man thing going down your throat and taking over with you none the wiser! Ouch.
Trivia: -This film kept switching directors in pre-production, though it settled on Jack Sholder due to him wanting to explore themes of being human.
-That infamous scene with the alien entering a guy's mouth disgusted the actor on the receiving end of it so badly that he left the room as he was being shown the final product.
